A man who appears to be in his late teens was shot and killed near Denver's Manual High School this afternoon.
Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said the man died of a gunshot wound to the chest. He is not believed to be a student at the school.
Authorities are still investigating the shooting, which occurred around 2:45 p.m. near Franklin Street and 29th Avenue, about one block north of the school.
Police were looking for a red Cadillac that may have been involved in the shooting, Denver police Spokesman Sonny Jackson said.
A neighbor told The Denver Post he heard a gun shot and then saw several young people running from the scene.
Denver police are expected to release more information shortly.
