Interstate 25 will be closed near 84th Avenue tonight and Tuesday night while a Colorado Department of Transportation contractor replaces a bridge.
"Since we will be installing girders over I-25, it is essential for the safety of the traveling public that we completely close the interstate as well as 84th Avenue," project engineer Daryl Miller said in a written statement from CDOT.
One lane in each direction of I-25 near 84th Avenue will be closed each night at 8 p.m. with all lanes closing at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m. , CDOT said.
All lanes of 84th Avenue will be closed each night from 9 p.m. and reopen at 5:30 a.m.
Marked detours will be in place.
"Major delays are possible on I-25 and 84th Avenue and alternate routes are strongly advised," CDOT said.
This work replaces a bridge constructed in 1959. The $8 million project is scheduled for completion by the end of October.
