GOLDEN, Colo. - District Attorney Scott Storey says 16 people have been arrested as part of an interstate cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking ring.
Storey plans to announce the arrests on Monday along with officials from the Drug Enforcement Administration and Jefferson County investigators.
Authorities say the drug deals took place in Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, Aurora, and Denver. Investigators say the drug ring moved cocaine to Colorado from California and methamphetamine from Arizona
Those arrested face organized crime charges, drug charges and money laundering.
Investigators say they also found evidence of cockfighting and a cockfighting operation. They seized approximately 70 roosters, a training ring, razors and eye protectors. They said additional charges are pending.
