El Paso police arrested a Socorro man and woman for allegedly having more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana.
On Dec. 20, investigators with the El Paso Police Department's drug task force said they met with Silvia Viera-Soriana, 37 and Hector Viera, 40 at a home on the 700 block of Rodriguez in Socorro.
There, police allegedly found 2,049 pounds of marijuana inside a van after a police dog alerted on the vehicle.
Viera-Soriana and Viera were booked into the El Paso County Detention facility on Dec. 20 on $200,000 bonds for alleged possession of marijuana of more than 2,000 pounds.
They each face a single charge of possession marijuana more than 2,000 pounds.
