Five area boys basketball teams will try and earn a spot in the regional semifinals when the state high-school playoffs resume tonight.

Second-ranked Bel Air (26-5) matches up with Arlington Martin (25-5) in a Class 5A battle. Bel Air knocked off Keller in four overtimes on Friday night in an area-round win, while Arlington Martin eliminated Odessa Permian.

"Arlington Martin is a good team and we'll have to be ready to play," Highlanders coach Rob Dibler said. "We've played well in the first two playoff wins and I've been happy with our effort."

In Class 4A, No. 4-ranked Burges (20-12) will meet Amarillo (20-11).

"We had a big win against Amarillo Palo Duro and we'll need another strong effort to advance on," said Burges guard Alvin Jones, who scored 32 points in the win against Palo Duro on Friday. "It was great to win our area-round game.

"If everyone contributes in this game again, we'll be fine."

In Class 3A, Fabens (22-10), which beat Lubbock Estacado in the area round, meets Midland Greenwood (19-14).

"We had a nice win in the area around and we feel like we match up well against Midland Greenwood," Fabens coach David Rueda said.

"Midland Greenwood is a good team and we'll have to play hard to win."

In Class 2A, Tornillo (28-6) will face Jim Ned (16-3) in its first-ever appearance in the regional quarterfinals.

"We feel like we match up well," Coyotes coach Cody Burris said. "We're eager to play in the next round and we just need to keep playing the way we have been and we'll have a chance."

In Class A, El Paso Harmony (24-3) will meet Farwell (27-5).
