A Pacific storm system is moving toward Colorado, and the Front Range could see winter-like weather, including snow, by the weekend.
The far Eastern Plains should see a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening, according to the National Weather Service. Some storms, east of Sterling in a line south to Akron, could be severe, dumping hail — up to two-inches in diameter — and unleashing winds up to 60 mph.
Weather in Denver this afternoon and tomorrow should be pleasant, with the high temperature topping out in the mid- to upper-60s, the weather service said.

Denver will have a 20 percent chance of rain Saturday afternoon, which could change to snow early Sunday morning.
There's a chance of snow in Denver on Sunday before noon. The high temperature in the city should top out at 43 degrees and the chance for precipitation will be about 60 percent.
On Sunday, the northern and central mountains, the Front Range foothills and the Palmer Divide area could see "significant" snow, especially east facing slopes above 6,000 feet in elevation, the weather service reports. The I-25 urban corridor and nearby plains could see several inches of accumulation on Sunday as well.
