Notorious for his government in the grocery events, Rep. Ed Perlmutter of Golden will host a college scholarship and tuition fair this weekend with fellow Democratic colleague Rep. Jared Polis of Boulder.
Held in conjunction with College in Colorado, a federally funded agency, the event aims to provide education and information to students and parents about the different ways they can pay for higher education.
Students will have the opportunity to learn how to fill out financial aid FAFSA forms and hear from a panel of speakers about how to apply for scholarships and programs that are beneficial in helping them repay any loans. A smorgasbord of local universities and organizations will be present to provide additional information.
Sen. Michael Bennet is holding similar fairs in a partnership with College in Colorado in cities across the state over the next few months.
"Ensuring our kids have the information and resources they need to access higher education is important for the long-term stability and prosperity of our state and country. Education is the key to innovation and a strong, stable economy built to last," said Perlmutter in a statement.
The college tuition and scholarship fair will take place Saturday, Feb. 18 at Pomona High School in Arvada from 10 a.m. til noon.
