Lobo says he is aware of groups conspiring against him and names the leader as Jorge Canahuati, owner of the country's largest publishing group.
Canahuati denies any involvement in a communique published on his newspapers' websites.
Lobo spoke Friday at a military event and took no questions. He did not explain why groups were conspiring against him.
Armed forces chief Rene Osorio says an intelligence report has been given to the president, but it is confidential.
Osorio says the military supports the president and is on alert. He says "no one is thinking about a coup d'etat."
