Coyotes have twice menaced people on the Boulder Creek Path in the past four days.
On Monday morning, a woman reported she was walking a standard poodle on the path just west of 55th Street when a coyote "came after her," Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokeswoman Jennifer Churchill said.
The woman used a stick to strike at the coyote repeatedly, and the poodle, Churchill said, "intervened" to defend her.
The second case occurred about 8:30 a.m., Thursday, when Derek Olson, who biking to work in the 4700 block of Walnut Street. Olson said he kicked at the animal, and yelled, causing the coyote to relent. "But then I looked back, and the thing was sprinting after me again," said Olson, who again kicked out and yelled at the animal, then "bolted to the office."
